TTA Tach/Boost Guage in a GTA

I want to install and can get ahold of an 89 TTA Tach/Boost guage for my 92 GTA. I want it because when I run boost I don't want any aftermarket guages in the car, I want it to look 100% stock and this is perfect. I know the TTA boost guage isn't the most accurate thing but I'll only be running 10lbs anyway.

Now, the tach it's self is a V6 so how do I go about making it work on a V8? Do I have to have some place calibrate it just for that or what?

Second, the boost guage will have to be manually setup independently of the entire guage cluster because I need to use my 92 cluster so I have the correct idiot lights. How would that be accomplished and can it be? I ask can it because I don't know if the entire tach/boost guage it's self has different cluster hookups than the V8's and this whole idea may not be able to work because that, in which case I'd have to manually wired the tach and the boost guage independent of my entire cluster...

Thanks!

Alex

Thanks but that post didn't help at all

They said the Firebird Tach for the V6 and V8 are the same just the face is different and to use a V8 face on the V6 tach.

Problem with that is I WANT the TTA V6 face.

One thing I just realized though is that the TTA guage says "TURBO" and I'm going to be running a SC'er. I wonder if I design/decal shop and make a new face that says "BOOST" instead of "TURBO"...

Alex, good luck on finding the part first of all! They are rare to say the least! If you do get this little project off the ground then be sure to post some pics as I'm sure it would look absolutely great!

Thanks, I've already found the part. Yeah I'll be sure to post pics.

Hey your avatar, were you the seller or the buyer? Or did you just use the pic in the ad for your avatar?

92 GTA:- It was just that you said you 'wanted to get hold of the part and install it', it sounded like you didn't have it yet. Where did you source the part? If you find any more then let me know.

Do you mean my avatar? It's of my Lingenfelter Performance Engineering Throttle Body Plate. I don't know anything about any ad.

Sorry about that then. I looked just like it had been cut from a picture in this ad on eBay recently:

My bad though, nevermind what I said about it

Hmm strange looking intake! Yeah, that has the same TB plate as I have. LPE offered it with their kits for quite a few years. They have some other designs also.

A while ago I was wondering what to have as an avatar pic and was looking through my pics of the car and thought of using that - especially as no-one else on thirdgen seems to have a similar avatar.
