wiring my non ecm carbed 350...HELP PLEASE!
i know tons and tons of people have done this to their cars, but im lost completely. off the fuse block what wires will i need? this is really frustrating and i really need this car to be done. all that is left is the wiring. even if u could tell me what wires i need to save off the fuse block that would help TREMNDOUSLY. if anyone has any links to a website with any info on this, maybe a quickl drawing, some pictures. it would help. i have a 91 camaro rs that orginally had a 305 tbi. i have the engine temp sensor in the intake, the oil pressure sending unit mounted in the back by the distributor like always. basically i need to know what wires to save. thanks for EVERYTHING. and i hope i can get this done soon....

Ok
What have you hooked up so far? Did you mark were the wires were on the tbi engine? Are you going from the fuse block inside the car or the block of wires by the brake booster? Did you start cutting up the wireing harness yet? Baiscly you want to start hooking everything up like it was a tbi motor if you get what I mean. I know you will have to change the distributer connection and some other stuff but start there. Do you have a test light? Get one if you dont you will need it. Once you get the tbi wiring hooked up start making your modifications for the distributer and other parts of the motor that need it. Let me know what you have going on and I will try to help.

ok where to start. Just out of curiosity do you have any wireing diagrams? Ok lets work one thing out at time. For your starter and altinator. I hope you kind of remember how everything went on the 305. For the starter you should have a battery cable, a cable going to the altinator positive post. Those were for the big post. Ok for the little post you should have a purple wire going to that. Thats your remote wire. Also there may be two more wires that go to the big post on the starter but not sure. Just out of curiosity why dont you run the stock oil pressure switch? then the connector would be the same. Also use the stock temp sensor to. Ok I am asuming your running a HEI distributer with a coil on the top. If I am right you need to find your coil/ distributer wires. There should be a pink and a white that go from the coil to the distrib. Ok now out of the wireing harnness there should be a White and a pink. The Pink wire is 12 volts for the coil. So you would put a connector on it and put it in the coil spot on the distributer. The white wire is the tach wire it goes to the tack conector on the distributer. Thats all I can type for now. Reply if you have some more questions.

You need to run all stock sending units to get the correct reading.

Yes the gauges will work but the stock sending units must be used! If not the reading will be incorect.

350 carb
I am switching from a 305 tpi to a 350 carb. My distributor wiring hooked right into the new distributor.
However, I do have a question. my wiring harness is for a two lead alternator. can I put a one wire alternator in and what would I have to do with the second wire on the harness.
I am using the stock gauge sensors.
save all the wires that come from the harness by the brake booster. Lose all the wires from the computer.
Some other wires that come from there would be for the air conditioner compressor, cruise control diaphram. I am pulling out those wires as I am not putting the power sucking a/c back in.
I am new at this too, so I few your frustration. I am having problems finding the right alternator bracket to fit, also mini-starter is not fitting correctly due to headers and y pipe for exhaust is interfering with the passennger front tire.
However, I did mark all the wires when I pulled the other motor.
