Pickup the Red top.

- Note, locally their is an interstate batteries store. (place that sells only interstate batteries) They do the warranty stuff for Redtop batteries sold at different locations. Getting to the point, they sell refurbished/scratch and dent Red top's for $50! I've picked up 2 already (on top of my original Red top) , one of which is being used in my camaro now, and the other in a trailer. You should see whether or not you have a local office, and ask them if they sell scratch and dent's. The scratch and dent's are usually batteries that checker/autozone/ whoever could not charge properly, and decided to replace under warranty.

On the Red top that I purchased at retail elsewhere... I'll be honest... they have replaced it for me no less than atleast 5 times. Its always been due to a MAD parasitic drain problem I had with the battery. I would take it to them, they would deep cycle it overnight, and if she wouldn't maintain, they would drop another red top on me (no paperwork or anything, warranty info is on the battery). This is no hookup either, I don't know anyone who works their. For the lack of BS that I have received from Interstate, I will purchase these Red Top's for all of my future vehicles... not only that, once I took care of the parasite (my freakin hatch pulldown motor!!!) problem, i've had minimal drain, and have not needed to replace the battery in maybe 6-8 months or so.

Sears sells Optima batteries too. You could compare CCA ratings right in the store.

When I turned in my last die hard (72 month) battery on their pro-rated terms after it crapped out. They still wanted over $100 for a red top model.Screw that.I bought the 84 month Gold Series battery instead.

I got an 850CCA from AutoZone for $75. It's from the Duralast line, but I forget the exact series name. 36 month warranty and then there's still some sort of pro-rated warranty after that. I never cycle my battery low, I just need a lot of key-on power for quick transients. Works great for me!

I have used Red Tops in my past three vehicles, One was A 92 S-10 with a 5000 watt audio system that competed in IASCA. I have never been dissapionted in these batterys. I never worry about how long I leave the radio on. It has started every time.

Red Top all the way.

I own 3 of them, the oldest one dating back to 1998...and it still works well!
