relatively simple cruise control question
relatively simple cruise control question
First off let me start off by saying this is my first post here. I have a 1985 Camaro Z28. I bought the car almost a year ago for $1500. Ive done some work already on it(new radio, amp,and speakers, new shocks and struts, new heater core, and turn signal lever) I ve also fixed lots of little things wrong with it. Now I have one little problem with the cruise control. I dont know where the black wire from turn signal arm goes so if someone could please take a pic and show me where it is or be really informative of to where it goes that would be great. =D Thanks ahead of time

If you are talking about the wire(s) that come from the turn signal stalk...then there are actually 4 wires in that black covering. Its supposed to snake down throught he column and come out near the pedal switches kind of. The thing that it plugs into wont seem like it fits.
Wires from the column switch end in a flat circuit board looking plug. You want to look for a square black plug...with 4 wires. Check the wiring diagram for colors. The flat plug from the column wiring will slide in the middle of the square plug. It might be suffed up into the spaghetti of wires...so hunt around for it.

P.S. If the wiring for the switch isnt already fished down through the column....you might as well forget it. I replaced my turn signal stalk and I couldnt get that wiring back down there to save my life. I think you have to dig into the column to fish it down there...but Ic ould be wrong. I ended up just running mine down the column on the outside and under the interior plastics.

FYI, the cruise control module, a small black box about the size of a pack of cigarettes, is on the pass side of the dash, pretty much above my hand in the following link. As a matter of fact, the plug goes to the module:

If you've got a Berly, who knows. Since Coolie has an 85 Camaro (I have an 85), it's pass side.
By the way, there's no such thing as a hollow 27 mm front sway; however, there is a hollow 34 and 36.
