headlight motor doesnt spin when turned on
hey guys, my pass side headlight motor wont spin when i turn the light on so i go to crank it by hand and when it comes time to turn it off the motor will spin to close it but wont spin to open it, i have checked and cleeaned the connections to the motor but no luck, anyone know a solution to this?

If the motor spins, yet fails to raise or lower the headlight bucket, then yes my headlight repair kits are the solution. In your case the motor isn't spinning. I'd check the wiring and switch. If all is good, then replace the headlight control module.
This info applies only to 1987-92 two-wire headlight motors. 1982-86 used a differeent three-wire headlight motor which isn't compatible.

how and where do i find the switch to check it, and also where would i find the headlight control module?

You press the headlight switch to turn on and off the hedlights, so I'll assume you can find that one fine. The headlight control module on a firebird is on the drivers side of the firewall. It slips into a bracket that is located between the brake booster and the windshield wiper motor. It has the word "GUIDE" molded into the case of it.

out of curiosity if the module was causing my problems for say would it cause only 1 light not to come up?

Yes a bad module can cause that symptom. It isn't the only possible cause for that symptom though.

ok, for the switch how would i know if its bad, would i see something to indicate it and how do i get at it, i have gone over the wiring and i have found the module just the switch is left
