Manual Shift Pattern Light
Hi guys
Whilst taking apart my console in order to install power seats, I discovered that there is a light bulb socket under the manual shift pattern. There is even a piece of red "lighting gel". There was however no bulb in place. I've been searching this forum looking for the right bulb number and I thought I had it narrowed down to a #194, but I bought a couple and they are way too big. They must have been referring to the auomatic shifter.
Anyone know the right number for these little bulbs?
Thanks, Tom

Re: Manual Shift Pattern Light
i don't know...i just went in to get one for my '88 manual and all the computer came up with was automatic...of which i bought that one brought it home, and it worked. I know for sure that it isn't a 194...but i can't find a number on my replacement. So sorry i can't help you there. But i don't know whats available to you in canada but i went to carquest here and they had it.
----------
actually just went and looked and it was etched with "174". They do change the numbers around after a few years (had this problem with fog lights...they were one number off), so i wouldn't be suprised if it's either mentioned so far but i just picked up a 174 yesterday and it works. I don't know if that helps at all but good luck!

a # 24 is a smaller wedge base gauge/marker light, its smaller than the 194's it was used as a rear side marker on caddys and olds alot

I had a look at the 168, it looks the same size as the 194... the only bulb that looked like a match was the 73 or 74... smaller version of the 168/194... guess I'll have to try them!

My 89 has the shift boot, shifter. On the console behind the shifter a little plate with the shift pattern but no light. (can't be one solid black plastic)
