Re: WTF???

I do not have a scan tool, and I'm broke. I know someone on here experienced this unless he/she removed the pvc pipe. Could it be the ECU one guy at O'RELILYS Auto Parts said it needs a new ECU and another one said it wouldn't start with a bad ECU. I hope its something simple grounded on the block....I have no clue what to do or test? I have Volt Meter I just dont know how to test any sensors..... Hey Thanks for your response it means a lot

Re: WTF???

You don't need a scan tool, just a paperclip.

Re: WTF???

It's under the dash to the right of the steering wheel. I doubt you have a bad ECU.

Re: WTF???

Doing that will tell you what the computer's complaint is, so you can figure out what the problem is and how to fix it.

Re: WTF???

Almost it came close to melting and started metling inward. I'll give another look because the metal pipe leads to a rubber one and that could of melted. I had the alternator checked and its good but I dont see how the bolt started melting also isint there a fuse inside the alternator that could burn out if this happend?

Quick check and couldnt see or find any leaks (Whew!!! I'm outta shape)

Re: WTF???

You just need a paper clip or piece of wire. connect the two terminals on the upper right of the ALDL then turn the keyon and count the blinks of the check engine light. The first code will be 12 repeated 3 times. Mike

Re: WTF???

I bought the expensive paper clip option at autozone or was it checkers for checking my check engine light codes. $19.99 or so, good investment for me!

Re: WTF???

When they said paper clip, they meant....just an OFFICE paper clip. No need for any fancy tool. You spent $19.99 too much.

No need to tow the car anywhere, or even start it. Plug the clip in, turn the key to the on position, then read the Check Engine light flashes.
