what are the two plugs that are to the right of the brake booster. two large connectors that have a small bolt holding them to the firewall..?

Re: what is.... (help please!)
Your right or my right?
Sorry, couldn't help myself.
A picture is worth a thousand words.
Or describe the connectors better with a thousand words.
Ok, at least give us approximate size, color, number of wires, maybe wire colors ...
There are several connectors by the brake booster, relays, the main C100 through-firewall feed etc.

Re: what is.... (help please!)
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/elec...highlight=c100 ( look at this thread, the plug im talking about is the third picture down)
i beleive the c100, which the plugs were totally fried looking and there was all kinds of nasty black silicon so i just cut the wires, then unbolted the plugs and pulled them off. The male part of it i guess you would call it it in good condition, and still in the firewall. Im guess i need a new harness then (cause i cut it off).
what does the c100 run???

Oil Pressure gauge sending unit
Tach wire
Distributor wire.
Basically all gauge wiring...
I'm sure that isn't all inclusive, but those are a few.

Yes, it's the much ignored C100 bulkhead (or firewall) connector.
It runs most of the wiring between the engine bay and the interior (power feeds (in & out) for lighting, ignition, & starting circuits, plus what jeffcj said & a lot more.
Only the ECM is on a different harness.
The black goo inside is supposed to be that way & is for corrosion protection.
Yes, you'll definitely need to get a new harness, now that you cut it..

Re: what is.... (help please!)
Yeah the inside of that plug usually looks pretty bad. Cutting it was not necessary and will probably cause you more headaches down the road. My suggestion to you at this point is to find another engine bay harness (not an engine harness) that matches your model and motor and vehicle options.
Then replace it and run the wires everywhere and start out fresh.
There are some important wires in there. Starter wire, power feeds for the inside of the car, lights, and some other odds and ends. During my swap I dumbed that wiring down as far as it could go, and I was still left with a handful of wires that I needed for the inside of the car to function as well as for the starter to work off the key.
J.
P.S. Just for future posts. The plug that you described is on the LEFT of the car. When referring to parts on a car and using the terms left and right, you usually pretend like you are sitting in the car. So the booster is on the left. If you want to be 100% clear, then say passenger side/drivers side. Just to help ya if you have more questions!

Re: what is.... (help please!)
This is what you cut(see attached) Big mistake on that one. it is the main harness for the engine and lighting check out the diagram I have included.
When I did my tpi swap the harnes i got had this cut off. I had to rebuild it using the tpi harness and tbi connector. it was a PITA!!! I did this as I did not have the money to buy a new harness. The cheapest I could find was over $200.00
