Re: no headlights and radio

i did check that i all so rechecked if the the cable to the starter were hooked up right and they are. so I have no clue what is going wrong. it has to be a main ground or power that the 1982 trans am did not have that the 1984 camaro needs

Re: no headlights and radio

Could just be differences in the pin out of the c100 connector. Id get a pin out of the stock one and one of the trans am harness and compare.

Re: no headlights and radio

check that and check ur fusible links maybe u blew one by accident they are those like cylindrical plastic things on the main big wires going to the fuse block they are pretty close to the starter u prolly already seen them check for power after them (between the fusible link and the fuse block) if burn get a new one at autozone and swap them good luck

Re: no headlights and radio

Did you ever find out the problem with your radio and headlights? Mine does the same thing sometimes. Ill turn my headlights on and they will go out along with the dash lights and radio and then come back on?? Thanks

If the headlights go on and off at regular intervals you might have a defective or overloaded circuit breaker in the switch.

The radio going on and off simultaneously is consistent with the radio dimmer circuit being mis-wired.

Disconnect the
brown wire going to the radio.

Re: Car Is A Nite Club

Thanks for the help. I will disconnect the brown wire when I get home. Also last night I decided to drive my car. I pulled my headlights on and everything went out, horn, dome light, dash lights, radio speakers but I had power to the radio. They will usually eventually flicker and stay on but this time they didnt. I start moving wires around my drivers side kick panel and my dome light came on. Pulled my headlight switch and they went back off. Moved the wires again and it stayed on. Dumb question but does the vats have anything to do with this. I bypassed my vats when I did a carb motor setup. Also when I turn my key back the radio wont come on. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

When you’re moving wires around and getting different results, it makes it sound like there’s a wire or two with rubbed thru insulation.

There might be loose splices made by the PO.

To find out where, you can temporarily bypass the problem with fused jumpers.

Once you find the problem route(s) you can redo that section of the harness.
