Distributor Wiring Help

Hey guys. I'm putting a HEI vacuum advance dizzy on my new engine and would like to splice the new connections into the existing harness, but I'm not sure which wires are which. The car the engine is going into is an 87, and had an external coil. If anyone has a wiring diagram, that would be cool too.

Re: Distributor Wiring Help

then all you need is a switch 12v source to run to the bat terminal on the dizzy.

Re: Distributor Wiring Help

get a test light or a multimeter and test wires untill you find one thats only getting 12v with the key in the on position. then slap a female spade connector on it and plug it in and youre good to go.

Re: Distributor Wiring Help

That sounds like a plan. Would you happen to know how to test, or would know which wire is tach?
