park neutral switch orange/black b10 ?
park neutral switch orange/black b10 ?
hey,on a 87 tpi ,when you install a manual trans, what to do with the orange/black wire going from ecm b10 to park neutral safety switch? just leave it open,or ground it?
Re: park neutral switch orange/black b10 ?
Im not 100% on this but i think if you ground it, none of your emissions stuff will work cus it will think you are in park all the time. Not really sure how to go about that. Hopefully someone else will chime in.
Re: park neutral switch orange/black b10 ?
that would be allright, all my emmission stuff is in the garbage anyway, there is no such law where i am,it would even help to not set a code for them, but will it bother something else?that i actually need?if not i'll ground it

you need to wire in the manuals nuetral safety switch into the circuit to prevent starting the car in gear. atleast thats what i would believe.

Re: park neutral switch orange/black b10 ?
was that ''can you read?'' really necessary? no need to be a dick, what i meant was that i had it grounded because of what that book was saying, ,i understand that you say it can be left open,my question was to know wether or not it would matter if it WAS grounded, pretty easy to be rude for no reason when youre not in person, would probly be different if you were in my face.maybe you could ask why im asking that instead of being a smart ***,thanks for the info anyway, now can you answer my question,,,,read carefully,CAN I GROUND IT TOO! or do i have to go in the harness under the dash and cut it open.if i have to, ill do it,but if it makes no difference, ill leave it grounded.thats all,
with all the stupid stuff i see on here i could be an ******* too if i wanted too, and believe me you found your match if i wanted to blast someone, but i'm civilized enough to know that there is nothing to win in tryin to make people feel stupid.it obviously didnt work with me.didnt make you smarter either. now lets put the hard feelings aside and talk cars, sorry for telling you all this, but i dont like being talked to as if i was 5 not that its ok to be a dick to a 5 year old either

Re: park neutral switch orange/black b10 ?

Not what you asked ; you referred to you having no emissions
Switch is only there for AUTO cars so it can change idle revs when in gear.
Not needed or used for stick cars
Who knows , I didn't do the factory computer programming.
Maybe the stick tune doesn't look for that input / maybe it does.
You are now in a position to find out if it matters
Re: park neutral switch orange/black b10 ?
ok thanks, i didnt do any programming either, the reason why i talked about emission, is that i read a tpi book that mensions that by grounding that b10 wire, its cheats the computer into not setting a code if you delete egr,a/c and a few other deletes. so i went and did it,and now i was wondering if it was a mistake since you told me to leave it open,i wanted to know if it really had to and for what reason. im gonna have a prom reprogramed anyway now, so i can set these options off without having to play with that b10.its comfusing when you see 2 different things and have to decide wich is right
