91 Z28 Rear Defroster Wire

On the driver side, the rear defrost wire that attaches to the top of the hatch is completely missing; I can't chase it down anywhere. Anyone have any ideas where to start?

Power is supposed to connect to the left support then to the input portion of the defog grid.

Use 10 gage braided insulated wire.

Defog grid = the lines that go across the rear window. Not sure where to begin though. Mine kept coming loose, so it's possible it just slipped down somewhere. Hopefully someone didn't cut it off, but that wouldn't surprise me.

Ah ok, yeah I got that. The end actually connects to the hatch shock but the wire is missing. I already looked behind the plastic and don't see it so I need to know where it should start at so I can begin there.

the wire will run on the driver side of the car. Can't be more exact, so you will just have to start digging. Sorry can't be of more help. The wiring diagrams i found don't tell you where they are.

That wire can be found behind the tool compartment at the left rear.

Open the hatch to access.

You’ll have to remove at least one of the plastic panels in that area.
