heating ac blower control switch
heating ac blower control switch
I need to change the blower control switch in the dash right above the radio. I got the front panel off the radio/control area and got the heating/ac part to pull out just a little bit but it seems the wiring behind it won't let it come out anymore.
**I don't know what I'm doing here, only trying to figure it out since I want to drive my car before my hubby will be home next to fix it. This is likely a silly problem, but I'm stuck. Help is appreciated. The guy at the parts store said it was something that I could do on my own.

Three connections on the backside viewed from the top of the unit. The problem is probably in the second pic. The slider cable has a tab that pushes into a slot. IIRC, I used a short, flat-bladded screwdriver to disconnect it.

Couple more from the bottom of the unit. The little 'circle' in the first pic fits into the cable tab. The two 1/4" screws and the retaining washers can be seen in the second pic.
Here's a link to a promising fix for the switch:

The white thing is selector your switch. The 2 black washers are what you want to remove. That is what I had to use needle nose pliers and a screwdriver on. Also, you can see two 7m screws that have to come off. I thought mine had 1. Just remove both of those screws after you get the "one way" washers off. You are halfway home.

Wow, Thanks. 50 cents at the hardware store and my problem is gone! My HVAC control switch works perfectly now.
