Positive Battery Cable
So the black barrel that encapulates the 8ga wire to the alternator, the 12 ga wires to the fuel pump fuse and the fans, (I believe), to the 0 battery cable is not a fuseable link ? Someone please clarify this for me...
My voltmeter gauge in dash will never show above 11v while driving even at high rpms. New Battery, new alternator. Can my gauge be that far out of tolerance ? I measure 12 volts using a voltmeter from the alternator to battery. Shouldn't I be seeing 13 at the gauge in the dash while driving ?

Use a multimeter to check your voltage at idle and 2000 rpm. Check all the connection at the back of your alternator.
