The pic isnt working but by the way you are describing it. It sounds like the hood light area where it would plug into

Looks like it could be the mat extension pigtail plug.

Strangest thing man! two wires in each plug, one plug has a white wire and a purple/black one.
the other has a tan wire and a black wire.
They both come from the same side of the harness, and plug into eachother.
ive been blowing my gauges fuse and it stops when i unplug that. haha. NO IDEA WHAT IT IS

I don't know for sure but if I had to guess I would say Smog Pump? If I remember it has a few connectors on the top of it. Grab a Haynes manual and following the wiring diagrams or look on another thirdgen.
In either case blowing the fuses would mean a short in the system. Were they connected to begin with or did you connect them when they were found laying around loose?

They were connected to begin with.
I tore the entire car apart to find the short. When i found this connector, i unplugged it to see if the short would stop. it did.
I have no idea what it is though

Re: PLEASE HELP. What is this connector?!
I can tell you right off the bat that these are not supposed to be connected. That explains why your gauges fuse keeps blowing.
The tan and black wires on one connector are sure for the MAT/IAT sensor. The other connector is NOT for the same sensor so it must not be connected to the first one.
Trace the grey and purple wires to see where they go. I have a suspicion but it would be good to confirm it.
