1987 Factory Fog Light Wiring Help

I'm installing a factory fog light harness in my car out of a same year car (1987) that was equipped with fog lights. I've got everything figured out but the red wire from the relay under the hood, I know it goes to under the dash but not sure where. I have a stray red wire under the dash I though it went to but the pigtails are different and don't want to cut in unless necessary. Can someone check theirs or if you know tell me. does it plug to the fuse box or junction box or is there supposed to be a pigtail somewhere. Here is the plug end i'm talking about.

if you mean the wire leading to the switch, It hooks up to the accessory block under the kick panel. The hot for the relay under the hood is on a fused circuit to the battery.

So that plug goes directly into it? Any specific slot?

Look at the pics Joe, lol. Previous post is how my 86 is run. That looks like there's a lead off the fuse block.

That plug wont work on it from what I see. There may be a plug with an end that hooks up to it under the panel.

What I'm thinking is you may have something like this on the junction box. Mine is unspliced and plugs directly in to it.

I'm wondering that too. It hafts to go to there or maybe a wire off the headlight switch. All the diagrams just show it as battery hot but doesn't say where it gets Its battery power.

I've never seen the fog harness get plugged into the junction block. I ( now ) know the 85 fog light harness power wire is a tan wire leading from the dash harness & every 86 I've ever parted or rebuilt has a power wire exactly like the pic below and uses the exact harness that Kyles got.

Kyle, I pulled the lower hush panel from my 86Z this morning,..... this is the fog harness connector on the 86: ( It's a direct match to your harness ) Sorry; but I don't have an 87 Dash harness to use for comparing the plugs.

Apologies for my misinformation. My car did plug into the junction box but had a different end where yours was. I drove to the shop it was in and got a pic of it. It also had the power to the relay going to the battery. Could it be an 85? I bought it used from a member off what was supposed to be an 87.

Re: 1987 Factory Fog Light Wiring Help

You know, I never looked. It had an end on it I recognized as one for the junction box and knew where it went. I'll be digging around to tear the tach out and do the repair on the resistor at some point and check around. Frankly, I don't go visit Gina much(her name, story involved), too depressing with her in for paint and patch panels since March. But I did to check on that plug because it bothered me giving bad info.
