I own an 85 berlinetta with the digital dash. I've read a lot if the other posts on the digital dash but I can get a straight answer on what the vss links like. Does anyone have a picture?

 

What is it you are looking for? I have a 1984 Berlinetta with digital dash and have never heard of "vss links" If you need a picture of the digital cluster I can help out.

 

Oops type but I need a pic of the vss. Some ppl has said it was wireless and another shows it as what looks like a regular vss.

 

It certainly ain't wireless , that is for sure

Some years had a speedo cable drive to the IP and a box there supplied the VSS signal

Some years have a VSS in the trans and 2 wires to the IP or ECM

 

Wireless that's awesome , it will be cable driven in sure in 85 and built into the speedometer cluster. The non digital speedometers used a external vss optical buffer clipped onto the cluster a small yellow of green little box.

 

anyway you can tell because I need to get the speedo workin

 

well mines digital is there anyway to tell cause ive been using my phones gps as a speedometer but thank you guys for your replies.

 

Here's a pic of the Berlinetta Vehicle Speed Sensor,... Its' mounted in the tranny tailshaft.




If your Berlinetta Digital readout is ALWAYS dark, the cluster needs to be replaced. If the Digital readout always shows '0' miles an hour than either the VSS is bad, the speedo gears are bad, or the VSS Buffer ( plastic yellow case ) is bad.
