c100 power distribution question

85 iroc c100 plug. I know these connect to starter. Im trying to find out what this red wire was connected too. It splits off one of the main power wires coming from starter to c100

Re: c100 power distribution question

Looks like your fusible links, go to the same post on the starter as the positive cable from the battery.

Re: c100 power distribution question

yea they do but one link has that red wire coming out and its cut. i can't think of anything that would be getting power directly from that link instead of the fuse box

Re: c100 power distribution question

There are 3 links that go to the starter. One is the two wires into one loop and there is another single. I would get another fusible link and replace the cut one. You may be able to crimp a loop on it but I doubt you can get one with a large enough hole for the bolt and small enough connector for the link. Any parts store will have them. Should be marked with a number 1.6 or so which is a measurement in sq mm not amps.

No you should not. I thought that was separate from the two wires it's connected to. There should be another one that goes to the starter. I think that one goes to the blower motor high speed relay.

Re: c100 power distribution question

Just went to my car to make sure I remembered correctly, but two loops, three links. 86 Z, but an 85 harness. Should be the same on yours. Can't tell you for sure where that one goes, but the length leads me to believe the blower relay.
