No Starter After Replacing Postive Battery Cable
1991 Formula 5.0 TPI 5-spd
The car started fine until I removed the positive battery cable.
There are 3 orange wires, 2 of which use the same connector and 1 which is solo.
The positive battery cable ends have 2 tabs that point down. One is straight the other has a odd curve. I assume this has to go on a certain way for a good connection? I have the tabs facing the starter but I think it's supposed to seat different.
It's a stock cable so I have one wire going to the back of the initiator and plugged in the wire connector.
I took it off a few months ago and tried to install again today but I think I"m doing something wrong. All the lights work etc. just no starter. I attached a picture to help.

The S terminal(think that's the name) I never removed the purple wire though.

Re: No Starter After Replacing Postive Battery Cable
And you have all three fusible links along with the positive at the "B" terminal?

If so, here's a typical wiring diagram for your setup. If you're getting power through everything else, check your purple wire continuity through your clutch start switch.

Re: No Starter After Replacing Postive Battery Cable
There are 3 wires(red) that connect with 2 different ring connectors. I assume those are the 3 fusible links?
What's the best way to tell if I have power at the starter? Can I just test with the car in run?

Re: No Starter After Replacing Postive Battery Cable
If you look at fusible link A it goes to power distribution. If you gave power in the car, you should have power at the starter. You can check with a voltmeter by checking between terminal "b" and a ground you should have 12 volts.

Re: No Starter After Replacing Postive Battery Cable
Thanks Antares for the help so far. Tomorrow I'll check voltage and see about looking up how to check the neutral safety switch.
