New To me 82 TA. Tail / brake / blinker / reverse / hazard light puzzle
Hey All,
New to third gens and new to this forum. I have just acquired my childhood dream car (82 trans am) and am trying to get things working. Lots of little issues, but my priorities right now are the lighting issues.
My light issue symptoms are as follows:
1.) DS blinkers work and blink up to speed
2.) headlights work
3.) PS blinkers blink slow on the dash arrow but dont blink at all in reality.
4.) hazards blink on the DS and not at all on the PS, but reverse lights blink with them.
5.) DS side markers light up but PS do not
6.) when headlights are on, running lights all run dim on the PS of the car. DS light up fine.
7.) when brakes are applied, DS brightens, PS cut out completely, and reverse lights light up.
8.) reverse lights dont light up when going into reverse.
9.) all bulbs seem to be working. All grounds i can find in the taillight area seem to be solid. All fuses are intact.
Also, none of my wipers work. Figured they were a separate issue, unless the multi function switch could be the problem?
Any ideas or experiences that could point me in the right direction? Im stumped.

There's no telling what rewireing the car might of had by the PO.
TURN SIGNALS:
Some of those problems might be due to bad grounds.
Check those first.
Check the bulbs to make sure they are the correct type, and installed correctly.
A common mistake is people installing dual filament bulbs 180° rotated.
Some crazy symptoms have been reported doing that.
Now if all grounds and bulbs seem good, be advised the same turn flasher is used for both left and right sides, therefore when one side acts differently than the other, you have a wiring/wrong bulb/improperly installed bulb/bad bulb socket problem.
If you decide to replace sockets, you should know some sockets have been designed by cheapskates.
You want a socket with an all metal cup for the bulb base.
A cheapskate socket has a plastic cup with only a tiny metal strip to try to make contact with the bulb base.
