Speedometer Needle

Long time listener, first time caller. I hope y'all get the reference.

While attempting the "use a fork to remove needle" method, I broke it. 145mph speedo.

What's the best way about getting a replacement these days? I worry that my clumsy hands and big self might destroy another. I'm going to assume it's buying another gauge or cluster.

This all started because it was reading between 3-10 MPH high, my dad bought the car new. I knew they had some tranny trouble back when it was still under warranty, other than that - it's pretty much still completely stock and untouched.

Any shops the forum trusts and/or recommends for restoration of gauges? I'm going with a restoration, not modification.

Any help and or information would be appreciated. I've been searching the forum like a madman, well the entire internet actually - and coming up with not much at all that relates to my exact problem. Thanks

Re: Speedometer Needle

I have no personal experience with this company, but I've seen their name popping up on various auto repair forums and yt vids: http://www.unitedradio.com/automotiv...manufacturing/

Re: Speedometer Needle

To get the speedo needle of you've got to turn it, then lift it; Never pull it or pry it.
