I'm trying to reassemble my 3500lb jigsaw puzzle (1986 Z28, LG4, T5) I bought it as a basket case project, stripped to the bare firewall, and parts piled inside. Mostly have all that back together, but harness giving me problems. And mind, I'm far from a noob on electrical. But the previous owner hacked up and "hillbillied" a LOT. It came with an also disassembled 350 and apparently when that was installed, they just cut off the wiring from the ECM and went to a regular carb. Not too worried about that aspect, as I will eventually go to aftermarket engine management. But the regular harness from the C100 is also rough. I've repaired and sorted most of rit, but two connectors are messing with me. One is a two pin Male weatherpak that exits near the T by the distributor. I THINK it is for the reverse switch on tranny. Pink/blk and black wires. The other is the real issue. Green and grn/wht going to large, shrouded connector like for pressure switch( I assumed high pressure A/C, but one wire goes to fan relay coil and the other goes back to temp gauge. I thought it .might have a double-circuit switch/sender, but no such switch shows up in parts breakdown. The other side of fan relay coil is a tan/wht that goes to the C100 and then ends hanging out of the harness with no connector. That green that goes back to temp gauge is correct by the schematic that I have, but shows it should just go to gauge sender. At this point I'm beginning to wonder if this is even the correct harness (especially since it was just laying in the interior) That said, the lighting half is correct, as are ignition, start, dist, tach, oil alternator, and feed from fusible link. I need better diagrams or a car to look at (or help).
