Electrical Issue
So I have a 1989 Camaro RS. I am having some electrical issues. When I bought the car the radio did not work, so I put a new one in and it powers on but no sound, all the fuses are good except the power door lock fuse which keeps blowing. But today I turned my wipers on and the radio started playing music but then stopped until I put my wipers back on, any ideas?

Re: Electrical Issue
It sounds like you have your device powered from the circuit that runs the wipers rather than---as the Crutchfield instructions specify---one constant 12-volt source and also one 'switched' (by the ignition switch) power source.
You'll need to search either this site or The Google for a copy of the factory wiring diagram for your vehicle, determine which fuse block position(s) will be appropriate, and then rewire the radio accordingly.

Re: Electrical Issue
Ok, so after digging around under the dash I found that someone has jumped a wire to the starter. The guy I bought the car from said he had to get a new key made. So maybe someone bypassed the VATS system which is messing everything up due to the ignition controlling power to different circuits.
