You've obviously never had a performance motor built by a machine shop. most of the time it states right on the receipt "No warranty. No liability".

Who in their right mind would warranty a real race/high performance motor?

well, you are wrong.

as far as a place building my motor, nope... i build my own motors.

i just find it funny the guy gives NO gaurantee whatsoever.

for all anybody knows the bearings could be hashed, and the block could be cracked to hell and back.

and i'd hardly qualify this motor, as a real race motor..

decent build yes, race.. no.

Re: 406 short block

Definitely a good foundation for some serious fun, throw some good heads on there and WHA-LA! If you haven't posted it up on www.dfwss.org I'd suggest it... should be gone pretty quick over there. You also might try www.midweststreetcars.com (mostly an OK site but alot from TX as well).

Good luck with sale!!!

No, you're wrong. I wouldn't guarantee a motor either. I'll guarantee its in good running shape but I cant guarantee it if the next guy blows it. I don't know if I'd call it a race motor either, but high performance...definitely. That means no warranty.

If it was a bone stock motor, I'd warranty that no problem.

Re: 406 short block

Not a race motor??? Damn I must be doing something wrong!!! My motor doesn't have half the goodies in that one does and I am goin low 10's at 135 with no bottle

This is an awesome deal for someone, lotta of top shelf parts that would probably add up to over double that.

As far as the warranty goes...I build all my own stuff...pulled the motor after over 225 passes last season and put in rings and bearings...everything looked great yet...just like bein safe. I have every bit of confidence that motor will still be goin strong the end of this season too. BUT...would I guarantee it to a buyer, oh hell no... detonation is the evil destroyer of many many motors...sell my old reliable and the next guy sets the timing too high....whole ugly pile of parts.

Enough rambling, someone needs to buy this thing before the wife catches me trying to figure out how to get it shipped to PA

Re: 406 short block

What's the specs on the cam? I assume it's a solid roller.

Look's like a very good deal.

Re: 406 short block

yes solid roller. .700 lift on the intake side and a little less on the exhaust side. Ill have to check the cam card to be exact on the exhaust side.
