EBL Flash-II with port mod (for TPI)
I switched over to a LINK standalone so I have no need of my EBL. I bought it about a year ago, Served me well but it's time to move on for me. Comes with all cables and software. $400 shipped. Was a little under $500 new. PM me, etc.

Why the switch over to the LINK ECU? Those things are pricey. Seems like it would be more trouble then its worth.

Re: EBL Flash-II with port mod (for TPI)
Couple of reasons. Real-time tuning with modern software. Full complement of motorsports features. Closed loop using wideband lambda. And no factory-inspired firmware with loads of tables, scalers, and flags to sort through. Much better tuning interface than TunerPro and the logging, tuning, and configuration functions are all in a single piece of software.
I'm also a LINK dealer and we are developing kits for the TPI and TBI. And yeah it's not for everyone - it's about three times the price of the EBL. But you have to pay to play. And it allows a clear upgrade path for running DIS or switching to an LS engine, etc. The LINK can do all that and more.

Re: EBL Flash-II with port mod (for TPI)
Be sure to share info once development gets further along. I'm always interested in reading about new stuff in the tpi tuning world. They certainly seems full of features and I didn't mean to come off like I was thinking otherwise .I think that my original observation came from when reading some features online. Some are not "usable" on these older setups due to limited sensors available on them.
It definitely would open the path to ways to incorporate them though. For instance traction control. If you could install a LS-4th gen rear, or aftermarket rear, with some speed sensors at each wheel and then figure out a front wheel speed sensor setup then you could use a feature like that to its fullest. Or as you mentioned, going the DIS route. Which is something I would love to do on my FIRST setup.
Cost will be the biggest hurtle. Not that I don't think it would sell. But it seems that the third gen niche just doesn't have the numbers in terms of people doing big and off the beaten path SBC fuel injected builds. Most seem to LS swap or throw a carb on top. Personally, I like being different in that regard. As I said, please share once you get moving on that. Even the install of the standalone unit. I look forward to learning more about it.

Re: EBL Flash-II with port mod (for TPI)
I have a LINK Storm installed and running in my 86 Trans Am daily driver. We built a prototype harness adapter using the ECM header for the MAF TPI and TBI units. Everything works including timing control using the stock distributor. Only changes made were to set the base timing to 10 degrees and re-route the wire from the knock sensor to the output wire from the knock module (raw knock signal directly to the LINK) as it has on-board knock sensor control. We are looking at doing that with a plug-in adapter if we can source the module plugs. No header re-pin like the EBL. It plugs in using the stock pinout (I had to reverse my EBL pinout modifications).
And yeah - cost is definitely higher. But for those that don't want to learn obscure chip tuning, or the EBL - you can install the LINK, we can remote into your laptop and get it setup and running, then you can drive to a dyno and either have us remote tune it or if you have a tuner familiar with LINK you can have them do it. Our tuner is the VP of LINK for North and South America and we are his R&D dyno shop and where he does all his local tuning, etc.

Re: EBL Flash-II with port mod (for TPI)
I downloaded the PCLInk Software and have been glancing through it. Granted, there is a LOT in there. But it looks pretty nice. Being able to right click on any of the ECU settings and click "what is this?" to open a full description of that parameter is awesome. Obviously it would take a decent amount of research and time to make the conversion if someone was wanting to do all the tuning themselves as opposed to having a local tuner or someone from the company do a remote tune. But it looks very do-able for someone with previous tuning knowledge. Being able to find a tuner that can do more modern tuning software is a plus as well. Most shops have never heard of EBL/Dynamic EFI let alone tuned a TPI/TBI vehicle. Not saying EBL is a bad product, I've been very happy with it.
Sorry to hijack your for sale thread. I'll quit bugging you about the LINK ECU in here.

Yeah for sure - in the software the help function is really sweet. As you noted simply right-clicking on anything gives you the "what's this?" option.
Pull up one of the base maps included with the software and check out the maps and the 3D table manipulation. Use the arrow keys to navigate the map, and play with page-up, page-down, shift+page-up, shift+page-down, and if you hold shift you can rapidly highlight entire rows, columns, or blocks of table. Try shift+H and shift+V for interpolation. There are other functions like extrapolation and smoothing also. And like the EBL it has a "mixture map" that tracks how far off the AFR is based on logs and then the suggested changes can be applied directly to the fuel map.

Do you still have it for sale? Would the pin out be the same on a corvette? And does it come with that info?

no mine is an 89. Last year of maf and it’s the 1227165 ecm under the dash. Only 90-91 tpi speed density had it under the hood.

Re: EBL Flash-II with port mod (for TPI)
In that case yes - if it uses the 7165 currently then this EBL will work for you. That's what my 86 originally used.

Ok I’ve been looking into getting one anyway. If you still have it I’m just waiting to get tax returns. I mean if someone else wants it and I take too long go ahead and sell it. But if you still have it by then I’ll get it from you.

Is this everything needed (except a lap top) for tuning an '89? Sorry, this is new territory for me...
