Mine's from an '86 305 T/A that had 114K. I drove the car and the trans was fine. Manual shifter boot plate is broken, one of the pedal pads have fallen off. $250 for everything if you think it is worth a 5-6 hour drive.

Getting it crated and a real shipping quote is on my to-do list for next week. UPS will ship up to 150lbs. You may have to pick it up from your nearest UPS store. The 2/3 used clutch is heavy and would have to be shipped seperately. Are you planning to buy a new one anyway?

Yes I do, the clutch has about 2/3 of life left in it. I'll get some pictures today, but I won't have any shipping info until later next week.

No, 86 would be a two piece rear main seal.

That's weird, my 86 IROC has the original 305 that is a one piece rear main seal.

 

Sorry not yet. I worked on the crate until 10:00 last night. Thought I'd bash it out in an hour. It's my top priority to finish it and get the quote today.

'86 is supposed to be a 1 piece rear main. I don't have the engine any more to confirm and the flywheels look the same.

I have a whole setup for a manual clutch in the engine and trans section. It is a non-world class tranny. I don't know the history but it seems like it would be a good one if it were gone through. I don't like putting a used tranny of any sort in without going through it myself. I am in driving distance. I would think you could look at it before you purchase it.
