As the title says im in need of a working catalytic converter from an LO3 car so i can pass emmissions. Thankyou.

parts store sell direct fit ones..stock unit are useless past 50k

 

may not be direct fit but try jegs, summit, and Ebaymotors

and keep your old one if you still got it, take it to a recycle center, down here you can get $40-$80 in scrap from one

 

thanks i didnt want to buy a new one i just wanted to slap one on for emmissions because right after i will be ripping right back off.

 

that my be harder since the scrap value is so high j/y's dont sell them and most people who take them off now take them to the scrap yard

is your inspection visual or do they hook a probe to the exhaust??

if its just visual find you any cat and hallow it out

 

Right now i have a gutted one on there but they sniffer my car so thats not cool. The thing is recently that past 2 months the price of cats have dropped severely because i am a mechanic and we do sell bad ones that used to go for over 100 to now 40ish maybe if that. multiple places have agreed on the pricing its dropped off nobody is paying the top dollar anymore for cats so i cant justify paying much for one.

 

yea i found out they went down ALOT to, lol 3 months ago i got almost $100 for 4 alum wheels and 2 small alum parts

my friend went up there with some scrap alum that weighed as much as what i had and got like $40


hmmmm looks like you may have to bite the bullet and just get you a good high flow one and leave it on........... id hate to do it to mine but givin you situation and having a sniff test i would

well thanks for your help but im just going to put a cat on my current exhaust pass emmissions then rip it off for a complete catless mufflex setup so a high flow will do me no good.
