5.0 Litre (Mustang) engine in a thirdgen?

Im new at this whole car game so please don't laugh at me if this is not even possibly close to achieving. I was wondering if you can stick the ford 5litre in a thirdgen.. ? As I may have a chance to get a nicely rebuilt (310 hp) one one in excellent condition almost given to me.

I have no idea if this would work.. I can imagine the problem.. intatke not lining up.. not to mention transmission.. etc..

If it would go .. it would be nice though as I don't have the cash to grab a 350 and my lg4 goes ok with myself alone in the car but put someone or two other and its almost imbarrasing...

Not to mention I would be branded a traitor forever .. ahhh..

A Ford 9" is the only Ford part allowed in a Chevy. It is cheaper and easier to put in a Chevy 350. A 310 horse 5.0 is pretty worked while a 310 Horse Chevy is pretty mild. The chevy will make more torque and be more reliable.

you'd need at least a rear sump oil pan so I've been told, not to mention motor mounts, tranny mounts, wiring.....

I think that the money required to make it work would be comprable to what it would take to get a 350 in there. Your car is an 84, correct? That is a good thing as far as keeping costs down. I'd vote for selling the 5.0 and using the money from it to build a 350 to put in. I think you'll come out ahead both in terms of dollars spent and hours worked.

I agree.....
get the 5.0 and sell it , then take that cash and go get yourself a 350 Heck, if it was me, that money would go to my 350 Ram Jet trust fund. It's up to you really....
1.) a very modified LG4
2.) a 5.0 in a Camaro
3.) 350 long block
4.) the beginning of your crate motor fund:hail:

...aahhhh, to dream:lala:
