Looking for a lot of Aluminum
Planning on the slow build up of a perfectly tuned 383 TPI and I want to find a nice Aluminum block with aluminum heads and intake, cuase part of my project is making the car really lite wieght.
whats a good block to look for, engine, since I'll be looking for used.

IMHO, if you really want a light, powerful engine to stuff in your car, the LS1 is a better idea. That is unless you REALLY want a SBC under the hood. The LS1 you should be able to pick up complete with everything including tranny for the price of an aluminum SBC block. Yea, its not a direct swap, but it'll put out a whole bunch of power with careful mods, more than enough to put some 383's to shame. And its aluminum too...
