hmmm. nice. was it a lot of work? I've got an 84 and have been thinking about putting in a carbed 350 or at least putting in a modified 3.1 instead of the 2.8. It's disgusting that my 4 cylinder Neon can waste my Camaro with one wheel tied behind it's back.

I assume you replaced the radiator and possibly the front suspension. Anything else you ran into out of the ordinary? Also, did you bolt that up to the 700R transmission, or did you replace that as well?

The intake is in fact from Summit. Not a dual plane, but merely a stock one that has been ported a bit and added a polished finish. Relativly cheap and nice looking, IMHO. If you find the catalog, its on the same page as all the other intakes....

My 82' Came with a TH350, and it bolted up nice. However, I did just find out that my torque converter locked up, and whether or not this this is due to the new engine or because of it's old age (20 years..lol), is beyond me. But it's at the shop getting a beefier one put on...one around 2,000-2,500.

I left my original radiator and front suspension for now. The car seems to react fine (suspension wise), and my radiator keeps the beast cool (around 220 degrees), so I'm looking pretty good.

I'll get some closeups though, I got a good camera just the other day and will be taking some pictures just as soon as it gets out of the shop...

Thanks for the input guys!

More is welcome!

Looks bitchin'... I'd rip out the AC stuff, but that's just me- I like a nice clean engine bay, and I have no particular need for AC.

It also looks like some of the plug wires are kinda close to the headers- I assume that's an illusion, but you still might want to hook up a couple of looms to hold them out of the way.

Anyway, looks nice... now take it to the track and post some times.

No AC? Man, you must not live in the south. I'm originally from North Dakota and could have probably got by without it, but here in Virginia, the humidity will kill you during the summers.

Looks great, job well done, I'll bet your proud of it.Just one suggestion, someone else mentioned plug wires. I have on my '79 Z28 a set of the looms (brackets) that route the wires along the outside of the valve covers.I can actually remove my valve covers without moving plug wires out of the road.Check them out.If I can get a digital camera I'll post a pic for ya.

Yea...that was an early pic, I had some ACDelco wire looms with a bowtie emblem that attached to the bottom two bolts on the valve covers. They look great and keep the engine clean.

Also, update...

I ran the car for just a second, and it turns out my torque converter and my tranny didn't hold up. Blew them both. Car locks up now and wont stay on when shifting into drive or reverse. Sucks huh?

So the tranny is getting replaced with a beefier TH350 plus a higher stall converter, supposed to be getting it back tomorrow...so we'll see what's up.

I don't have my car right now, so I can't get anymore pics...but probably tomorrow, I'll show the finished engine bay and things...looks really clean....

Thanks for the input guys.....
