Not enough to be of any consequence...if you're getting creamed now, you'll still be getting creamed, just smogging up the atmosphere more. Figure about 5hp from parasitic loss turning the smog pump and a little reduced backpressure.

I dont know about how much hp, but i can not change the plugs on my tpi all form the top now. I took out the smog, and the a/c.

It really cleaned everything up, I have room to work now.
Getting rid of the cats on a car with alot of miles sure will help.

it's not that im getting creamed, its just that im in the middle of a 305/350 swap...and i was just wondering, i really dont care if its there or not, i was just wondering the figures

IMO you can ditch it all except the cat if you want most of the stuff out of the way but still want a clean running car.

He can always put new cats on. the smog pump, and air tubes are just in the way. With a good tuned car and cats he shouldnt have a problem. As long as they dont do a visual.

Besides he can alway keep the parts and put them back on if he needs to.

thanx guys i just wanted to take it off, im in bama so i dont think we will have an emmissions prob around here, ill save it all just in case
