Engine Paint

i see pictures of all these painted engines. they look real nice, but what type of paint gives it that high gloss look and can take the heat the motor produces? i want to throw a few coats on my motor before i pop it back into the car.

they make engine paint, it'll stand up to like 600 degrees....not very complicated, buy some, mask the engine, and spray away

I would use POR-15's engine paint.

yeah i got the duplicolor. i used that last time. was wondering what the high gloss stuff was, if it was something special not just paint from home depot or something. stealth im not stupid, my question was WHAT KIND of paint not how to paint. i guess i'll stick with the duplicolor, thanks.

Quick Question about painting:

As far as the engine bay is concerned, can you use a can of Krylon to do the inside of the engine bay, before a new engine is swapped in there?

i went to my local body shop/paint supply store and got a quart of black single stage arcylic enamel. i went home, mixed it, put in my gun and shot the engine bay. looks good now. only cost about 20 bucks.

Plasti-Kote makes great engine paint. I have Chevy Engine Orange, with their Clear cote engine paint. Looks great and shiny.

With the POR-15's engine paint do you use a paint brush or do you spray it on? If you do use a paint brush how does it come out?
