Finally dynoed my LT1 SWAP!
Well it's been a LONG time coming but i FINALLY got around to getting my car onto a dyno and tuning it with a wideband! It's a stock block 350 LT1 motor with mildly ported heads, CCXE custom grind cam, 700-r4 with a 3500 stall convetrer, heavy Ford 9" rear and 3.90 gear ratio. The dyno run was made with the torque convertoer UNLOCKED, so I can expect more power once I wire in a switch for it. My Max power was at 6400 RPM and it was 362RWHP. Peak torque was 348. It just feels so good to be able to floor that car after 2 years of building it!

Sounds like a pretty big cam, or some pretty good "mild" porting, or both. How streetable is it? Nice numbers either way. Makes my wallet hurt thinking about the whole setup though, hehe.

It's streetable definately, if you odn't mind poor gas mileage lol. The cam wouldn't pass a sniffer test, it's a good size, but it has GREAT throttle response because of the amount of port work on the heads...they really kept the velocity up on the heads which makes his the most responsive motor I've ever driven lol. The car has a few more Ponies in it when I take it to the dyno and am able to lock up the Torque Converter.

Yup, I was just at the Pike last saturday. I usually hang out at the Taco Bell, as most of my friends are ricers. But I do "roll" through the Dunkin Donuts every so often lol.

I've heard that higher stall converters actually give you lower numbers. You might actually have 380 or so rwhp.

Yah, I have a very high stall, and a heave Ford 9" rear with 3.90 gearing...Not ideal for the dyno. Also the runs were made with the TC unlocked.
It's a stock 4-bolt LT1 block with all the bolt ons, mildly ported heads, and fairly stout cam. DFI Managed.

Damn good #s IMO. Nice work. Weren't LT1s rated just over 300hp from the factory? If so, you have made quite an improvement! Now go out and get some track times! good luck with the set up man

Great job! Why did you go with the DFI over the GM PCM? Is it more tunable?
How are you going to handel the pukes at CT state emissions?

LT1's from the Factory for F-bodies are 275-285 HP...Automatics at the wheels dyno around 235 or so from the factory, with the TC locked up. so I made a 130 HP improveent and have yet to lock up the TC. Guesstimates from me and other serious drag racers say my car should be in the high 11's with the weight of my car (3200 lbs with driver), and the slicks and skinnies I have for it. I'm pumped.
BTW, about the emmissions thing, lol, I used a LPE219 cam to pass emmissions, then one day later I swapped to this cam LOL. I still have over a year left till I'm due again.

Much too high of a profile cam on a 112 LSA. The thing still lopes all the way up to 1800 RPM and thats where it is on the dyno. I never tried to go through emmissions with this cam, all I know is all the 4th gen guys can't do it without risking the life of their motors.

Try to find a shop that does emmissions simulations in your area...I know pretty much for a fact that you WON'T pass emmissions with that cam unless you have a tune that you put in while waiting in line to go on the rollers, and you put your regular tune back in right after (it's basically an unstreetable tune). But good luck! I'm planning on swapping to a stock LT1 cam when emmissions rolls around again.
