Dyno Tests

Got my car Dyno'd last night-287.8 at the rear wheels.
I don't guess that is too bad from a 350 .30 over
with 700R4 Tranny and 3.42 gear.

Car: yy wife, crazy.
Engine: 350, Vortecs, 650DP
Transmission: TH-350
Axle/Gears: 8.5", 3.42
According to the rule of thumb- 20% drivetrain loss- that works out to 359.75 (or 360 HP).

Pretty gosh darn good if ya ask me.

What cam/heads/exhaust , etc., etc. are you running?

Cool.

What stall TC? I'm really curious because it looks to be VERY streetable, which is what I'm doing with my 350 build up.

I see you're running a Edelbrock carb. What model? 1407?

Thanks for the info, and good job.

I am running the TCI 2200 Stall. I also have the Edelbrock 1406
600CFM Carb. It works very good. I used the factory fuel pump and mallory regulator with 5 psi fuel to the carb. I went to the 50,000 volt distributor and could really tell the difference in idle. Mine idles around 900 rpm and the whole car shakes. It is really cool at night you can see the headlights bouncing side to side and all you hear is the cam hitting. Really a hit at Sonic drive in night.

what

i still cant believe that..350 hp/350 ci with a 600 cfm carb.
I AM in a big dilema because I just bought a 600cfm edelbrock perfromer series carb for my 350 but everyone is telling me to go to 750.
I have 1.94/1.60 valves and comp cams xe262h cam.
Is 600 sufficient enough??? for lower rpm power like peak around 3500-4000?

the 600 will be sufficient but you WILL make more power with a 750cfm

i dyno'd at just a few more hp then kdgreen, with a 350 and a 650 carb. i actually gained a ton of hp going from a 750 to 650 carb. the smaller carb, gave me more power, better drivabilty, and gas milage stayed about the same.

IMO a 600 or 650 is pletty for a mild 350

Thats one of the things that has always made me laugh, almost everyone who has even a stock 350 thinks they need a 750cfm.

It's the "bigger is better" thinking.

If you think it's difficult to convince young hot rodders that it's not true, you should have seen me trying to convince the ladies.
