V8 Swap wasn't hard at all.

Month ago i wrecked my TA and then bought a 87 v6 firebird. So i transplanted the whole drivetrain to the 6. It was all pretty easy. Only had to do a few minor things but its easy when you have a v8 car to get the parts from. Heres a pic of the v6 in the car. My buddy put a "V8" in it to give it some class. hehe heres a pic. Ill have a few more pretty soon to show you what the new motor looks like.

Well I did a 2.8 v6 to 350 swap on my car, but I converted it to carb setup. If you guys want to see some pictures, check out my website.

I found it just as easy to keep the fuel injection, but I think that's just a matter of personal preference. Mcas, that's a sweet looking engine you have there. I read about the B & M megashifter, and you had mentioned something about the original V6 cable not working right. Did you actually experience a problem with it not functioning? The reason I ask is when I did my L98 swap, I never had to change the shifter cable, it bolted right up and works just fine for me.

Oh and the donar car is a MUST in my opinion. There were so many small things that you need that would cost you a fortuen in time and probly money to track down.
