your 91 rs should already have the fuel pump in the gas tank, not on the block like the older style engines

you could always run an aftermarket electric fuel pump, thats what I'm doing with my '84, I'm putting a '90 350 in it

Does the l98 have provisions on the block for a fuel pump? Either way the stock roller cam does not have the lobe for a fuel pump. If you want to go cheap get the pump form a TBI car and a 3 port regulator.

i converted my L98 to carb and i tried putting in a mechanical pump but it didnt happen. i got a blue holley 14psi electric pump w/ APFR and mounted everything in the engine bay. pretty easy, and now i can service everything under the hood. the kit cost me $110

havent drivin the beast yet, will soon though

afpr = adjustable fuel pressure regulator. good for when you get a new carb and you need more fuel pressure (better than buying a new pump again)

i got a whole new vacuum advance distributor from a buddy

You mounted the electric pump under the hood? Once you take the car for a test drive, could you possibly monitor the fuel gauge (with and without a load) to see if it drops at all, and tell us how it delivers being so far from the tank?
