How much did you spend on your Swap?
I got a 86 camaro with the 305 .. thinking about putting some money in the acount for a 350..
How much did you guys spend on your swaps ..
from 305 to 350 ??
I am a student with partime job and ebay sales .. So keep that in mind .. i also know a guy that could put the engine in for a small fee .. I would'nt mind getting a used 350 ..
Thanks

Too much for my crate motor and aftermarket fuel injection, plus everything else that adds up while your doing the swap! But for a good used, say L98 from a Vette, probally between $2-3K. That should include everything needed for the swap as well as install. I say again, "should"! lol If you want to just do a swap, it should be simple, if you want to add things too it, like new runners, tb, manifold, distributor, starter, ect., these things add up! With the amount i mentioned you should be able to have a pretty decent L98 swap under your hood.

Just found this while "browsing" this place's other items. Its not a bad deal, but this place is kinda expensive anyway. You can find these cheaper if you look hard enough. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2444824802

Mine just keeps adding up the little things, I got my engine outta a truck, and the brackets are definitly not fitting into the camaro design, IE, water pump, power steering bracket, alt bracket, new hoses, new belts, new brackets, im almost outta money just picking up the little things :lala:

I spent a little over $3100 but a shop did the swap for me they got the block and balanced it and put in a slightly bigger cam than the 305 and ported the 305 head and did a valve job
it runs good evern though im running a stock 305 chip and 19lbs injectors

I've spent about 3000 but thats for the car (700) the 350 (350) the tranny (600), repairing the tranny (200). plus all the little things to do a v6 to v8 swap, springs, struts, fuel pressure regulator, blah blah blah. Anyways for just a 350 swap you should just have to get the motor. I would try to find a pre 78 350 like i have. There really cheap and you can get a four bolt pretty easy, plus it's carbed and has no smog pump or any emissions.

When i swapped from the original 305 in my car to the 350 thats in it now it cost me about $800 actually. I got a 350 from a totalled early 90's truck , then I got the throttle body, cop car chip, and a gasket set . I also did all the work myself with one of my friends. Now I am building a 70's 350 that i got rebuilt for about $450, after the cam , vortec heads, roller rockers, flexpate, Gaskets, and bolts Ive purchased. I have spent about $1400 but I bought the heads used, and I have yet to install it. Desktop Dyno gives me 330 hp and 410 tq with that setup and I have only spent $1400, try to get that deal on gm crate motor. Also if you do get an a pre 87 350 change out the cam and heads, most of those motors put out 170 hp or less, but you can get great deals on them and build em cheap, good luck.

Lots and lots. Up around 6,000 for the engine swap and 2,600 for the transmission swap. Trans. swap would have been cheaper if the first TH400 didn't keep frying
