95 LT1 w/ 92 700r4

i'm goin to be dropin in a LT1 into my 92 camaro. will the LT1 bolt up to my 700r4 in the car now??? i think it will but what do i have to do to make it work. and is it worth it or should i just trough a 4l60e in it. eventually either one i go with will be rebuilt. also is the LT1/4L60e a direct fit lenght wise in other words can i use the stock drive shaft etc

Driveshaft length is the same with either tranny. If you want to use a Th700R4 behind your LT1 instead of a 4L60E, you'll need to use a 93 throttle body since it has the provisions for the TV cable. 94-up used the 4L60E so the linkage is different. Id use the 700 myself. esp if you already have it and don't have a 4L60E. You shouldn't have to change anything else.

Also need to use a 93 TV cable, and make the VSS work properly.

I'm not positive, but since your third gen is a later one I would bet the stock VSS (vehicle speed sensor, yes) is compatible. If you already have a TPI TV cable it might work, otherwise the 93 one (or one from Street&Performance or Lokar) would be the one to get.

The pulse on the thirdgen one and 4th gen one are nowhere near the same, it will not work for him, neither will a tpi tv cable, a 93 piece is what is needed.

I have done the swap LT1 in a 92 firebird, the 700r4 will work but it won't last long if it's stock it won't take the H.P. & torque. I went to a B&M 700r4 trany after i trashed the stock unit.

Was the kickdown set correctly? These were stock with a 700R4.
