2.8 question
is the 2.8 in the camaro and s-10 the same as the one out of the fiero? i have a cool swap in mind for a camaro im picking up in a week or 2 but i need to know if the bellhousing for a 5spd is the same.

The S-10 2.8 is different from the Camaro/Firebird 2.8. Oil filter mount location is different.
I'm not sure about the Fiero 2.8.
But, the bellhousing mounts are all the same.

I keep hearing that the starter is on the opposite side, like the fwd cars than the rwd versions. haven't heard about the oil filter thing before. Best to search then ask in V6 forum

yea thats my big dilema. i mean i can alwars cut a bellhousing and weld up everything in reverse to fit the starter. but it would seem odd to me for gm to make one specific block for a camaro and a million of the same block for all the fwd cars. if anyone sees a 4th gen 6 cyl. look under it for me

the third gen v6 bellhousing will fit. Even though the 3800 is a 90* engine, the tranny bolt pattern is the same for 2.8~3800.
edit for ya:
the two cars pictured have the same engine

It's a 95 3800 from a camaro. you need to fab up brackets from the block to mounts. I had mine made to bolt to the 2.8 mounts. My engien also sits a little bit lower than most, but that's fine w/me.
What yr is camaro, as dash/gauge wiring will be emensly easier w/a car origonally equiped w/an electronic speedo. my tranny crapped, so I haven't been able to test it yet (no y-pipe hurts also
) Tach isn't working either , so that's jsut some gremlins I gotta fix. I swapped my 85 rally cluster for an 88 rally cluster, and the bastages moved gauges around on me

well hopefully if i can i want to use the gtp gauges. no offense to the camaro but i want to custom build a dashboard. there are some gauges i like to use and i dont like looking for them or like having them displayed for everyone.
