TBI to TPI help needed with the wiring

I have a 1991 RS that came from the factory with a 305 TBI and a 5 speed. I bought a wrecked 1990 IROC with a 5.7 liter TPI and a 700r4 transmission. I swapped the 5.7 liter TPI into the 1991 RS using the TPI harness out of the 1990, i used everything including the computer. my problems are that it keeps blowing the Acc fuse and the engine will not crank, it seems to me that the injectors are not firing because i can spray gas into the throttle body and it will run for a second or 2. I have searched and searched and searched and it looks to me as if no one has done the 90 into a 91 or 92 swap. I am a dummy when it comes to wiring but if you can lead me through it I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks
Barry

You say it will run for a second or two if you spray fuel in the TB - how can that be if it won't crank?

Oh, I bet you mean "it will not start and run". You turn the ignition to "start" and the starter turns the engine over, right?

Suggestion: Get the 1990 and 1991 shop manuals. Not the Haynes or Chiltons, the real thing with the schematics. Trace it down. That's going to be easier and quicker than trying to do it remote over the forum, and you'll get some learnin' in the process.

I hope you know that there is a defference in the fuel pumps between the TBI (around 6 to 13 psi, and the TPI much higher) check to see what pressure you have at your fuel log.

I second this. Your TBI pump puts out 12psi on a good day and TPI needs no less than 40 to 45.

I have swapped the gas tank on the to cars as well, i have 42 PSI at the little nozzle under the MAP sensor on the fuel rail.
the problem is that the injectors are not firing at all. and something is making the ACC fuse short to ground. as well i have read that the fans will not work correctly after doing this swap until you change a few wires around in one of the connectors on the car.

I need to know what wires they are and what connector that they are in.

91 TBI RS to 90 TPI IROC

thanks

The 15-pin connector (C207) under the dash near the PCM holds wiring that activates the fuel injectors. You will need the service manuals to find out which connections need to be made.

HTH...
