v-6 to 8, can I use the 6 cradle mounts?

well, I'm just a set of mounts away from having my v-8 swap done, or maybe just a move of them. I have the v-8 horse shoe type mounts already, but can I use the crossmember lower mounts from the v-6? I know there are alot of holes on the cradle, and the mount has to be quite a bit more forward than the v-6 mounts are located at on it. So can I just move the v-6 mounts up, or do I have to buy a different type of mount? -Colt

Definately replace them while you are already in there, i went through this last summer, lol. They are not expensive at all. And yes it is possible to reuse the v6 lower mounts, but they have to be moved toward the front end of the car one set of holes, also be gentile when re-routing the brake lines. I live in Pa where corrosion is a major factor and if you lines look anything like mine did... Good luck removing the mounts

ok, can anyone send me a picture to my email ( pimp_ace2@yahoo.com) or post one of a cradle with the mounts in the v-8 location? I want to be sure I get the right holes, I was gonna put the new larger v-8 mounts on the front-most holes, so as that the bottom front hole on the mount hangs over the crossmember just a lil like on my buddie's elcamino. -Colt

You dont need to remove the a arm to replace them..I didnt. Just go through the springs and into the tube with some swivels and extensions....it can be done with some time and patience....

Dont skip work here my friend!
Do it Right!
Drop the A-arms and trash the old soft wobble V6 springs and get new V8 GM ones(???) or better aftermarket springs......
