BBC power estimates?

I may be buying another big block soon. Right now the motor has some sort of GM big block head (unsure of head) flat top forged 10:1 pistons, 4 bolt mains etc etc.

Now if I buy it I am going to put in a hydraulic roller cam (234/242, .610/.632, dart iron eagle 308cc, 119cc combustion chamber, 2.250/1.880 valves, matching dart single plain intake, and a dominator carb. I was thinking about the 750 dominator, unless I can handle a real dominator with that set up

so what do you guys think that kind of set up would put down for numbers? When all is said and done I may spray it with a 150 shot. I am still undecided what kind of car this is going in, but I really have the urge to build a new motor

what about a 244/256@.050 with .632 lift intake and exhaust? I am in the dark with big block cams.

what about the ccomp cam that switches the 4 an 7 cylenders. has 279/282 with .714/.680 lift.

summit has a cam I was also looking into. summit PN CRN-138871

that first cam decision was based on not wanting to rev too high. I doubt big blocks like to scream to 7500 all the time.

How many CI's will the block have and what will the heads flow? Drag or street?

454. I am not to sure what the heads flow. They will most likely be box stock...I guess I can search around for flow #'s.

and is there any point when I would have to worry about piston to valve clearance?

Not sure on that the piston to valve clearance, might want to speak to a professional on that issue or someone else could chime in.

Thing is im running a 230/244 .544/.574 on my 383. I was running the same cam in my 350 and it was plenty streetable. You have over 154 more cubes, that one you first picked would be quite mild.

I suggest something in the range of 260/268 .510 / .540 @ 0.50 on a 112 LSA

Will have a nice idle and will not need to be revved to the moon to make power.

I was thinking I might stick with a 110LSA or possibly a 108 depending on the grind. I can care less about idle quality, and don't mind not so great driveability. I want to make maximum power without revving too high.

Well usually the lower the LSA the higher you will rev because there is more valve overlap which is why I suggested the 112 LSA. If you want the 110 or 108 lsa, look in the range of a 248/258 cam with a .510 .540 lift.
