I took out the CFI 305 for a 4bbl 350, my hood won't close with the air cleaner on it! Is there something I can do other than cut a hole in my hood? Thanks

I recently swapped in a 350 HO Deluxe which was equipped with a drop base and a 14 x 3 filter element. The hood would close until I reduced the filter to a 14 x 2 1/2. Check the second pic in the followin link:

By the way, if your cruise control (if so equipped) doen't work, check this thread:

I have a T-5, no TV cable. You might consider a search.

Get a drop-base air cleaner (almost any parts store with chrome stuff will have this) and/or a shorter air filter.

The original Cease-Fire operational vent system is hitting? Ours did also....this is what we did......

Removed the rubber seal from the hood.
Cut off the drains and seal with silicone
Add a drain to the rear of the hood's unit.
Remove the stock cover from an LG4 air cleaner and invert the center section by cutting it out and brazing it back in upside down.
Hood closes fine!
Still trying to figure our how to make the scoop "APPEAR" to work.
An LG4 Air Cleaner (with the ductwork) will provide cool air and a stock look.
We're still looking for a Dual Snorkel at the local J.Yards.

DON'T hack the original Fiberglass hood!!! Some guys will pay a small FORTUNE for one in good condition!!!! If you must hack a hood buy one at the J.Yard and store or sell the Fiberglass unit.

Sincerely,
Kurt
