ls1 and tbi

I was wondering about the hot rod issue and thought about what it would take to make the tbi work. This is a serious idea and I would like some postive feedback.

The only way is if somebody had come up with a system to put TBI on an LS1 so the LS1 computer would only fire 2 injectors. The TBI would be less efficent than the Port fuel injection and have RPM limits, thus the main reason GM went with the Port injection on the 99+ trucks with the LS based motors.

The real question is, why would you want to leave MPFI, to go to TBI? Its a step down.

I suppose I should refrain from giving feedback as it won't be positive.

Well at one time, F*rd flathead V8s were the fastest thing on the road too; and people built them up because "they had them for starters". But then all of a sudden, everybody that had one just couldn't figure out how to make it run against that newfangled Chevy motor with overhead valves they came out with in '55. They eventually got a clue. Well, most of them, anyway.

If you are going that route than you would want to buy the LS1 carb manifold, and run the Holley TB on it. Im still nto sure why exactly you woudl want to do this. Any kind of TBI setup is lacking when compared to a MP setup.

I happen to like tbi and for alot of reasons.I am familar with it and it is pretty simple to work on.tpi or multi port probbaly is for some one who is familar with it.Just like a 350 vs 351.Want ever floats your boat.May not cost too much anyways. It is all part of hot rodding.

I know where you are coming from, but as a fellow fan of tbi I should admit to you that you would probably spend countless hours tuning a chip to run the 454 injectors that you would undoubtedly be forced to used in order to aquire the necissary ammount of fuel. But if you can afford the time and money I say go for it! I'd like to see it anyway.
