Axle/Gears: 10 bolt with 3.42s
what do you think about this combo
ok guys i just wondering what everyone thinks about this combo. im gonna do a heads and cam setup on a l98.
-vortec heads(550 lift ones)
-LT4 hot cam
-comp promag roller rockers. 1.6
-HSR
-Hooker LT's
-Magnaflow catback
-with a custom y

You forgot to add all of the tunerpro hardware!
With good tuning, you ought to be well over 400 hp and well into the 12's in the 1/4 mile.

yep, tried and true combo. mid lower 12's depending on chassis/trans/gear setup and raceweight. should touch near 350whp and be good street combo. wont be all that bad to tune either with a MAF system. will need tuned tho for sure

what gear and stall do yall recomend? i was thinkin a 3.73 rear gear and 2400 stall.

Gear is fine.
I'd go with more stall for the track. My 2500 w/ZZ4 cam is too low - 2800 would be more like it. The Hot Cam would want even more.

for a track strip car, go 3200-3400. for street car 2800-3000 would work great.
3.27 gears will work ok with that combo but it will want 3.70's. i dont think its worth the swap tho since 9 bolt parts are rare. big stall and 3.27's will still net good 12 second et's
