Purty. I'm in the same boat as you (but I'm not building the motor myself). I thought hard about SLP runners, but I just love the look of the stock runners too much. And I think unless you port/siamese/gasket-match the plenum and intake, the SLP's aren't going to give a lot better flow. I think the intake base is the big bottle neck, right?

Hard to pick one TPI part that is the most limiting, but the runners certainly limit RPMs more than the other pieces.

thesargster4, what are you going to do for the other 6 injectors???

Five7kid, what do u mean by what am i going to do with the other six lol?

I got a pair of lt4 injectors coming, and i have the engine harness and ecm for the tpi..lol?

And main reason i bought the SLP's is cause i won them on ebay for $35 shipped, there just a bit dull.. but some polish will fix that up.

Re: My L98 = 90% done!

hahaha, pair = 2. if you got all 8 it would be a set, not a pair

why did you go with 9:1 pistons? i'd have gone with something more in the 10:1 range...those cylinder heads are decent stock replacements, but i would have gone bigger, since you did buy aftermarket stuff...atleast have gotten the 202 version, if not the vortecs. and why such a small camshaft?

Re: My L98 = 90% done!

i just realized that! rofl..

For one, im looking for gas milage, not so much smoking mustangs! $4 a gallon at my age isnt so easy. I want to run 87 octane without hurting anything, and cant offord a crazy computer calibration to run a big cam. This was basically a quick build, on a tighter than tight budget.

Very cool, i'd leave the valve covers red, it doesn't look that tacky.

That's a damn good reason. No matter how much I like the look of the stock runners, if I ran across a deal like that, I'd be running SLP's too! Nice score.

Ha i know, Best time to bay is during sports events, and the softball games were playin', and what do you know.. some one missed out lol.

Im trying to hunt down a shop that can dyno TPI setups so i can hear this thing run and fine tune it

P.s., tell me if this is funny or what LOL:

Re: My L98 = 90% done!

Thats it is gonna be a really solid daily driver motor . Im starting on a build similar to your but with vortec heads (free) and a 383. A ZZ9 cam would have been solid in your combo, especially with the bigger valves. I see them used for like 120-140 bucks sometimes.

p.s. Yea that camaro is swwwweeetttt!!!! haha
