Found mine on Craigslist. 50k miles, pulled for big block, outta 90 truck. I already had a V-8 car though. U'll need trans and computer from v8. Check on buying whole wrecked car/truck.

Re: Need Help Please! Immediately!
ok so heres the thing.........the guy i got it from was a total complete idiot. it was his wifes car and he was tired of her burning up so much gas that he took the stock 350 out of her and put the only V6 they made for the car(which was a 2.8L V6.........now the only reason i knew it was a trans am was because of the dash. See some 89's that CAME with the 2.6L V6 had a Velcro glove box but the only difference is the emblem. The TRANS AM had the a TRANS AM LOGO and a bird next to it. The V6 just had the bird. And plus the last known miles on the original engine that he had on it was 135,000 roughly and then the mile meter quit. So thats the only reason that i could figure.

South of Greensboro, North of Rockingham. Not too wise to give too much info for all 2 C. Pretty much dead center of the state.

Check the 8th digit of your VIN, that will tell you what motor your car came with.
Also, what do you think the 6-173 means next to your transmission? You have a 700R4 transmission... the 6-173 you probably got confused with 6 cyl 173 ci.

Re: Need Help Please! Immediately!
Look in the console and see if the RPO list is in there, if it is not look at the VIN and see if there is an F or 8 if it doesn't have those, but has an S in it....then the S indicates a 2.8 MPFI V6. Plus like stated above, the Trans Am will have the fender vents, checkerboard taillights, and vents in the hood (unless the hood was swapped)

ok...........this upsets me alot........it seems that this car is indeed a PLAIN JANE 89 Pontiac Firebird.........the only thing that threw me off was the glove box because it has words that say trans am..........sooooo......this must mean that the Dumb*** who had it before me change out the dash. Thanks guys for all of your help but now i dont feel like im WORTHY ENOUGH to be a true firebird fan.
