were working on our 91 rs engine swap. we want to put the origional brackets. on passenger side of block ac, smog pump, tensioner bracket.
the origional head had 3 bolts at the front. our edlebrock victor jr. alum. head has 1. i need 1 more bolt hole to tighten up the bracket.
has anyone else here ran into this?? does anyone here know if i can drill and tap a hole where i need it?? please comment!!! thanks very much!!!

 

Shouldn't be a problem. Don't drill them any deeper than necessary.

Might not hurt to call Edelbrock and get their take on it.

 

thank you! thats what i did, i found a tech support line for edelbrock. that man said the same. at worst i would hit a water jacket.
i drilled & tapped it 1/2 inch as much as i could tell. i got 6 complete turns with 3/8 bolt and gooped it up good with marine grade thread sealent sticky gunky stuff.
got my fingers crossed!!!!!!!! hope to have it running in a month and we'll see if it leaks
