Alright in Planning stage, need opinions.
I was finally able to get my car: '92 RS 25th Anniversary v6(bad crank, so i was told)
I plan on swapping the engine with my 383 i have. I need opinions for the intake, i already have a complete 305 tpi set up off my 87 z28, this seems to be a more difficult route, but i'd really like to have the tpi in for looks. i plan on trying to tackle the prom burning and all the tuning myself later on when ready. If i go this route what all will i need to swap the 87 harness into the 92? I've read for hours the last few nights and couldnt find an exact answer.
Another options is i could probably sell the tpi unit for enough to by a decent carb. but would rather go with tpi setup.
also dont have much money, i know going tpi would be a lil more money but im thinking i could pull it off farely cheap, correct me if im wrong.
Everything is up in the air, just going through options.........

Stock, the TPI will absolutely choke a 383. Modified, it doesn't have the TPI "look" anymore.

Yes, the runners and base were designed around a 305. They barely feed a stock 350
HSR is the least expensive EFI intake available. Only thing that may end up cheaper is a 4 bbl EFI conversion intake. Check out single plane EFI swaps in the alternative intake forum

That depends upon the details of your 383. Cam, heads, exhaust, mostly.

im not sure on any of the specs. i got the engine from my dads good friend. it has to have a new cam and lifters due to improper break in i guess. heads also have to be restudded. i have a race cam from dads old stock car. he said it will work great for the motor.

Re: Alright in Planning stage, need opinions.
well we got the engine torn down.... we were lied to lol, not a stroke 383, but stock 350 2 bolt main. owell got the motor free, pistons, cylinder walls all that are good, no play in the crank.
the bad news..
pulled the cam out nice and gentle til the ignition gear. well i made a simple preventable mistake. the block was upside and the fuel pump plunger caught the ignition gear and i did not realize it until i turned the block right side up and puled the cam out. turns out i scarred the bearing up pretty bad. went ahead and ordered new ones just now from jegs. will be in friday. hopefully put in sunday. also got new cam, intake and complete gasket kit in today.
edit: oh yea im goin carbed,
here are the specs

Your Summit list looks okay for a carb.
What heads are they, exactly?

Your 305 TPI heads would actually be better. 1.94" intake valves would help them to be even better.
The 882's would be okay for a street car, but you'd be wasting a lot of your cam.
I hope you were planning on better valve springs, either way.
Have you ever considered Vortec heads?

Re: Alright in Planning stage, need opinions.
for vortecs, it's too much $$$ for me.
could i just go with the stock 305 heads for now until i have saved enough money to get the 1.94" valves? would these work?

Springs that can handle the lift. Stock springs won't cut it.

These seem to work well in healthy street engines: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CCA-981-16/

The 882's will still need the springs, and most likely will need the top of the guides cut for the extra travel of that cam (good time to go for Teflon valve stem seals).
Does your 350 have dished pistons? If so, I would still consider the 305 heads over the 882's, even if you don't do the larger valves. The amount of work either set of heads would need is about the same.

I did get new valve seals, but not sure if they're teflon, they're whatever come in the summit kit

Most likely they aren't Teflon.
Be sure to check every valve for travel, with the seal (if the umbrella type that goes over the guide), retainer, and keepers (no spring). You need sufficient travel for your cam lift plus .050-.060".
