Doubt it
Engine connections for TPI will be the same but firewall connections most likely different
Could be made to work but .......

Smart person would sell the Vette harness with your old motor and keep the harness you know FITS your car

the reason im selling my oem harness is to reach the total for the corvette motor im a couple hundred dollars short and selling my harness would put me that much closer to it but u mentioned it could fit but firewall connections are different could u splice those coonections and make them a lil bit longer to fit the appropaite lenght to make them fit in my trans-am stock locations and after shrink wraped were a spliced or if thats not the way what is alternate option while still using the corvettes harness

Why would you take out the correct, perfectly good harness you already have and replace it with one you have to buy that requires playing around with to work

Save some $$$ and buy the Vette motor without the harness ,you don't need it
or get the person buying your engine to buy the Vette harness from the owner at same time as you buy engine so everyone is happy

Re: 86 305 tpi to 88 vette 350 tpi

the problem is the corvette motor will come with the harness even if i dont want it and my oem motor is already sold ....i asked one of my instructors from school and i asked him about the harness and said it could be possible to use the harness from the corvette and use it on my trans-am and where the corvette harness needed to be longer i could splice wire into it to make it reach and shorter where it needed to be shorter i know its dumb to sell my harness but im not gona find one these motors that are near by ohters i would have to travel far or have it shiped but my situation is complicated there are other factors involved that are personal in regards to me doing this and would not like to say but i cant hope u understand but it is what it is......if there is more advise or tips on this topic please let me know

Probably not because the only person who would use a non 3rd Gen harness would be someone converting a non injection car to EFI and even then they would most likely buy a used 3rd Gen harness to make life easier .

Anything is possible , just going to take some work on your part. Need to get circuit diagrams for both cars and match wires up

Re: 86 305 tpi to 88 vette 350 tpi

Its not a question of the harness having some wired shorter and some wires longer. The problem will be were the harness connects to the firewall. The plugs will most liekly have pins in different locations/some not there at all/and some that dont need to be there. That would be a pain to fix. You either need to find a way to keep the stock harness, or get a used 3rd gen harness to replace it. The vette harness is pretty much useless to you.

Put a deposit on Vette engine
Get Vette harness
Sell Vette harness with your engine
Pay balance owing on Vette motor
Everyone happy
